According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), “[W]orkplace violence is any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the work site. It ranges from threats and verbal abuse to physical assaults and even homicide.” The workplace should be an environment of safety, however, it can also be dangerous. It is often rampant with acts of violence, including assault and battery, sexual assaults and even shootings. At the Law Offices of Geraldine Ly, I represent workers who have faced all forms of violence that occur during the course and scope of their employment.
Examples of workplace violence may include:
Serious workplace injuries and fatalities can take place during robberies, hostage situations and terrorist attacks, and may occur during normal business hours or overtime hours, anywhere on the business premise, including parking lots and bathrooms. These violent acts may be perpetrated by strangers, customers, other employees, relatives, managers, partners and business owners.
My representation of the survivors of the San Bernardino terrorist attack that took place on December 2, 2015, has made me a sought-after advocate and speaker for many media outlets, such as The Doctors TV show, KNX talk radio and local television stations.
If you have been subjected to workplace violence and are uncertain of what your legal options are, then you should come and speak with me. You can call my office at 714-418-4717 or you may connect with me online to send me a brief message about your situation. I offer free initial consultations, so do not hesitate to speak with me. I can also help Spanish and Cantonese speakers as well.
